Suitable for Rim & Mortice Applications

The removable solid brass backplates give these beehive knobs excellent versatility.

They can be used with traditional rim locks or installed as mortice door knobs with a suitable tubular latch or mortice lock, making them suitable for a wide range of internal door installations.

As the knobs are unsprung, we recommend using an appropriately heavy-duty sprung latch or lock to provide the required return action.

Genuine Teak Wood

Each knob is crafted from true teak wood, showcasing the natural grain, colour and tonal variation of the timber. These natural characteristics mean that no two knobs will be completely identical, giving each pair its own individual appearance.

Teak is renowned for its strength and durability, making it particularly well suited to frequently used door furniture. Its warm natural tones also provide an attractive contrast against the bright polished brass backplates.

Unlacquered Polished Brass – A Living Finish

The solid brass backplates feature a traditional reeded beehive design and are polished but deliberately left unlacquered.

This means the brass is free to react naturally with handling, moisture and the surrounding atmosphere. Over time, the bright polished surface will gradually deepen and develop a distinctive natural patina.

Areas that are regularly touched may remain brighter, while recessed sections can darken more noticeably. This changing appearance is an intentional characteristic of unlacquered brass rather than a defect.

The finish can also be polished periodically if you prefer to maintain a brighter polished brass appearance.
